Beginner’s Linux Mint Class

Time: Friday May 9, 2025 at 11:00 AM
Class Description:
In this class you will learn the basics of a free, secure computer operating system, Linux Mint 21.3 Virginia.
This is a “hands on” class and you will have your own computer to work on as we cover:
Web surfing, securely, with the Firefox browser.
How to access your email accounts.
How to access ChatGPT.
Navigating the file system, which is very similar to Windows 10.
Working with Photos
Working with Music
Writing a letter with the excellent Libre Office (free) word processing application that is built into Linux Mint.
Linux Mint 21.3 will run nicely as a replacement for Windows 10 on your computer. As we know, Microsoft is discontinuing support for Windows 10 in October, and no one should be using it after that date without paying for extended support.
Don’t be intimidated by Linux! If you have used Windows 10 you will be fine with the Linux operating system.
This class is for new Linux students, so if you have taken the class in the past, please don’t register for this one.
